The 3rd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Exchange Forum on Synergistic Promotion of Disability Rights and Services
The Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities (“the Joint Council”) led a delegation of 40 representatives to attend “The 3rd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Exchange Forum on Synergistic Promotion of Disability Rights and Services” in Shenzhen, which was organized by China Disability Research Society and Shenzhen University on 9 – 10 November 2024.
Mr Cheng Kai, Chairman of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation, officiated the opening ceremony. The two-day forum consisted of plenary and parallel sessions, and an agency visit in Dongguan.
The Joint Council was honoured to organize one of the parallel sessions. The theme was “Rehabilitation Services: From Users’ Perspective”. We invited representatives of Shenzhen Association for Families with Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, Macau Association Support for the Disabled, Fu Hong Parent Group, Chosen Power and Hong Kong Neuro-Muscular Disease Association to share their experiences in promoting user participation.
